The second major cost is the commercial dealer insurance that a used car dealer is required to maintain. The third major cost associated with a car dealership is the dealer surety bond. Used car dealers also have ongoing monthly expenses which include rent, dealer insurance, dealer bond, utilities etc…. The bottom line is that owning and maintaining your own used car dealer license is very time consuming and expensive.
I am making more money than I expected so this has been a really good decision. Highly recommend. I was very skeptical at first as I thought they were just out to make a buck off me. I was impressed with the amount of time, guidance and resources that were available. Once I put my guard down and trusted in the process I really started doing very well in the business. I always knew a lot about cars on the repair side but they helped me with how to buy the right car at the right price to improve my profit.
I also did not know anything about paperwork and title processing so they was also very helpful as they handled it all. I have been a member know for 6 years. I was in the car business before I got started with Mycardealerlicense. I thought I would get in and out quickly as soon as I got started and made some money. You must understand what you are purchasing.
It is your money and your legal responsibility to know. I have talked with many over the years who were burned by these offers because they did not have a clue about the licensing laws or the car dealer business. Something that has bothered me for a few years now is how does Carvana get around the law. According to their advertising and what I see on their website. How do they get around the law that selling and even showing a car has to be done at their dealership?
They have a license in states they are located. A person IN Ohio sees a car online and agrees to purchase it. The paperwork for the sale is done in the state where Carvana has its license. It is not sold in OHIO. The buyer agrees to the purchase and Carvana sends the purchased car to them. Of course, the only way Carvana can make a sale of cars is by agreeing to take it back from the buyer.
That has nothing to do with licensing. The state, OHIO, where the owner resides, by law, has no legal responsibility for this sale. Here is just one thing in their FAQ section. All our Co-op Dealerships already have a location from which they operate.
Their license does not allow that. You are a rep for their company. A contract employee. If you do, you are violating the licensing laws of your state. EVERY state requires cars sold by dealers to be shown and sold at the dealership. And residence cannot be used for a dealer license.
It is not a zoned commercial. Homeowners would get very upset if businesses could set up next door. And this company has no liability for YOU displaying and selling cars from your home because you violated the signed contract.
Jeffrey Having a felony conviction will not necessarily stop a person from being approved. Contact the Illinois licensing group to verify if the type of felony could stop the approval of a license.
You cannot sell vehicles for a profit without a dealer license in KY. Some states have a maximum. Mine Colorado is zero also.
If you obtain a dealer license you cannot use your residence as a business location. The business requirements for the location are in the Dealer Handbook. There are many issues and questions about getting a license. Hi Don Iam member of copart auction and I want to buy cars from the auction through a broker called auto bid auction and flips cars ,so what the best way to do it and legally?
More than that requires a dealer license. To do more than 4 a year is illegal. No state requires a lot. They all require a business location with an office and spots to display cars. The display space can be outdoors lot or indoors. A dealer selling Mercedes in downtown Chicago does not need a lot or want one. The dealer only auctions require you to submit a dealer license with your registration.
If you do not have a dealer license, you could use a broker or a dealer to bid for you. I am a resident of CT. I am looking to access dealer only auctions and a dealer plate. Is there a program in CT to do this for retail sales or only wholesale between dealers? Jim To access dealer only auctions requires you show you hold a dealer license.
Dealer license plates are issued to dealers only for convenience of driving dealer owned vehicles on public streets. Thank you. Sorry for the delay in answering. Been on a trip. For example if I obtain auction access from a dealership from another state I cannot buy and sell in my state az?
It is illegal? Auction access has nothing to do with the retail sale of vehicles. Auction access gives you the right to bid and buy vehicles at the auctions where the dealer has registered as a dealer.
You have to pay for it but the title and sales receipt will be in the name of the dealer that gave you permission to access, bid and purchase at the auction. The dealer from another who has given you auction access does NOT have the right to sell cars located and sold in your state.
They own the car. You do not. The dealer is not licensed to sell cars in your state.
