My main reason for buying and wanting to install Win 7 Professional is to run a practice management application software primarily written for Win 7 Pro. It looks like a catch all error code that covers a lot of things but not specific enough to make a good determination as to what the problem is.
Costco concierge service helped me a lot trying to solve the error code in question but to no avail. I discussed my options with Costco and in doing so have to prioritize my requirement that I am willing to lose Win 8 for now just to be able to install Win 7 Pro. First we downloaded Win 7 Pro related drivers from Dell. Second we created a recovery drive of the Win 8.
The installation was successful and updated Win 7 Pro with more recent software fixes from Microsoft. In a few weeks I'm going to partition the hard drive again and install Win 8 on the new partition. In the event that Win 8 does not install properly, I'll just set it aside for now. Reinstalling Windows will erase everything from your hard drive, allowing you to start again with a fresh system. Join over , other people just like you!
